Zea Mays 2014 Version Française Cerealis
Zea Mays, the scientific name for maize, is made from a blend of 51% maize and 49% malted barley. Grown throughout the world, maize is one of the emblematic cereals used in whisky production. Matured in charred new American oak casks (charring process), this version explores multiple worlds: first of all the gourmet flavours of American whiskeys, then an uncompromisingly exotic and herbaceous character.
Tasting Notes
Profile: Smooth, generous and rich.
Nose: Round and complex. Marked by cereal and gourmet notes, the nose then reveals mineral scents, evoking the world of bourbons.
Palate: Direct and dynamic. The attack on the palate is nicely perfumed. The suavely fruity mid-palate reveals a finish punctuated by notes of sugar cane.
Finish: Generous and full-bodied. The finish reveals very pleasant her-baceous nuances which add a new chromatic and gourmet tone.
