Blavier 2006
Distilled in a small Jura roastery, this single malt is the fruit of one of the last Blavier stills still in operation. Particularly popular at the beginning of the 20th century, these machines produced a distillate of rare finesse and elegance, and have now all but disappeared from the French countryside. This absolutely remarkable version is inevitably reminiscent of the Blavier distilled in 2003 and aged in vin jaune casks, released by Version Française the year before.
Tasting notes
Aged in macvin casks and then matured for a short period in bourbon casks, it radiates maturity and is imbued with literally exciting floral and spicy tones.
